Scriptures on Long Life

“With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation”

God has given to his covenant people many promises from which they can live godly, satisfying and successful lives. We know that death and life are in the power of the tongue and they that love it shall eat its fruits (Prov 18:21).

What fruit would you rather be eating death or life? The answer is clear. Therefore, we should speak what we want to see even if our bodies are saying something else. Some people have families with short life span, as a result of sicknesses and diseases or tragedies of some sort. If we are not careful we will talk ourselves right into the grave. Jesus came to give life and that more abundantly, not just in the spiritual but also in the  natural.

Speak by faith

Take a Praise Break!

Life sometimes becomes very hectic, and Believers tend to loose focus on what is really important in their lives. When last have you taken time out to bless the Lord and tell Him how awesome and magnificent he is? Don’t allow life’s business to lock you into its mold, so that you become lost in the day to day struggle that you fail to connect to what your soul and spirit truly desires-HIS PRESENCE.

Take a praise break and let your Creator know how grateful you are that he has given you another day, another chance, a new beginning to start over today. Your hope and confidence must TOTALLY be in God and not in the systems of this world, because regardless of how good they appear to be, they fail and disappoint but God’s word stands forever, his plans are recession, sickness, job and depression…. proof.

Read and declare

Psalm 145:1-21, aloud, let your mouth speak in praise of Him. No one is worthy of such praise and adoration like He is. Then claim His promises as His child.

As you declare God’s praise, watch His presence and peace fill your life and heart.

1. I will exalt you, my God the King; I will praise your name for ever and ever.

2. Every day I will praise you and extol your name for ever and ever.

3. Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom.

4. One generation will commend your works to another; they will tell of your mighty acts.

5. They will speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty, and I will meditate on your wonderful works.

6. They will tell of the power of your awesome works, and I will proclaim your great deeds.

7. They will celebrate your abundant goodness and joyfully sing of your righteousness.

8. The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love.

9. The Lord is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made.

10. All you have made will praise you, O Lord; your saints will extol you.

11. They will tell of the glory of your kingdom and speak of your might,

12. so that all men may know of your mighty acts and the glorious splendor of your kingdom.

13. Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations. The Lord is faithful to all his promises and loving toward all he has made.

14. The Lord upholds all those who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down.

15. The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food at the proper time.

16. You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing.

17. The Lord is righteous in all his ways and loving toward all he has made.

18The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.

19. He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them.

20. The Lord watches over all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy.

21. My mouth will speak in praise of the Lord. Let every creature praise his holy name for ever and ever.

Be empowered through your praise.

Scriptures on Prosperity

Prosperity Scriptures (NIV)

The word of God is proof of God’s will concerning our prosperity. Taking the word and putting it into our hearts and minds not only reduces doubt and unbelief concerning what God wants but also, builds our faith to believe God for the impossible. It is important to note that it is God’s will to prosper his people

Genesis 8:21

The Lord smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart: “Never again will I curse the ground because of humans, even though every inclination of the human heart is evil from childhood. And never again will I destroy all living creatures, as I have done.

Genesis 12:2

“I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you;I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.

Genesis 24:35

The Lord has blessed my master abundantly, and he has become wealthy.

Genesis 26:12-13

Isaac planted crops in that land and the same year reaped a hundredfold, because the Lord blessed him. The man became rich, and his wealth continued to grow until he became very wealthy.

Genesis 39:2-4

The Lord was with Joseph so that he prospered, and he lived in the house of his Egyptian master. When his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord gave him success in everything he did, Joseph found favor in his eyes and became his attendant. Potiphar put him in charge of his household, and he entrusted to his care everything he owned.

Genesis 39:5-6

From the time he put him in charge of his household and of all that he owned, the Lord blessed the household of the Egyptian because of Joseph. The blessing of the Lord was on everything Potiphar had, both in the house and in the field. So Potiphar left everything he had in Joseph’s care; with Joseph in charge, he did not concern himself with anything except the food he ate.

Exodus 23:30

Little by little I will drive them out before you, until you have increased enough to take possession of the land.

Exodus 36:5-7

And said to Moses, “The people are bringing more than enough for doing the work the Lord commanded to be done.”Then Moses gave an order and they sent this word throughout the camp: “No man or woman is to make anything else as an offering for the sanctuary.” And so the people were restrained from bringing more, because what they already had was more than enough to do all the work.

Leviticus 26:9-10

I will look on you with favor and make you fruitful and increase your numbers, and I will keep my covenant with you. You will still be eating last year’s harvest when you will have to move it out to make room for the new.

Deuteronomy 7:12-14

If you pay attention to these laws and are careful to follow them, then the Lord your God will keep his covenant of love with you, as he swore to your ancestors. He will love you and bless you and increase your numbers. He will bless the fruit of your womb, the crops of your land—your grain, new wine and olive oil—the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks in the land he swore to your ancestors to give you. You will be blessed more than any other people; none of your men or women will be childless, nor will any of your livestock be without young.

Deuteronomy 28:8-13

The Lord will send a blessing on your barns and on everything you put your hand to. The Lord your God will bless you in the land he is giving you.The Lord will establish you as his holy people, as he promised you on oath, if you keep the commands of the Lord your God and walk in obedience to him. Then all the peoples on earth will see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they will fear you.The Lord will grant you abundant prosperity—in the fruit of your womb, the young of your livestock and the crops of your ground—in the land he swore to your ancestors to give you. The Lord will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. The Lord will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the Lord your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom.

Deuteronomy 30:19-20

Galatians 6:6-10

Nevertheless, the one who receives instruction in the word should share all good things with their instructor.Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

Claim your benefits

Benefits packageBenefits package

Anyone who is in the job market, looking for a job will always be more interested in jobs that offer benefits. Although we may not think strongly about benefits, they are essential and add value to us and our family’s lives. Many organizations are seeking to make their fringe benefits package more attractive so that they can attract and retain the best professionals in the market. Some of those benefits are tuition assistance, flexible medical, childcare spending accounts, medical insurance, 401k disability insurance, life insurance, paid time off, retirement benefits and much more. We love good benefits and feel a sense of security about our well-being because our benefits allow us to go to the doctor, take vacations, stay home when we are sick and enjoy our perks. As Christians we do not realize that we have benefits too, benefits that far outweigh the benefits of our jobs, but we seldom claim them. David praises God in Psalm 103:1- 5 and describes the benefits that he receives from God.

Psalm 103:1-5

1Praise the LORD, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
2 Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—
3 who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion,
5 who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

He forgives our sins, he heals all our diseases, he redeems our lives from destruction, he crowns us with loving kindness, and satisfies our desires with good things.

Yet he made provisions for us even before we showed up in the world (Roms. 5:8). The price has been paid, it’s now time for us to access and enter into God’s provision through the door Jesus Christ. Claiming Victory over Depression- Keep your “God Confidence up” Psa. 143: 1-12 – Please Read Entirely

As I was reading this morning I came upon the description of this Psalm in my Joyce Myers Bible and thought it would be great to share with you.

Psalm 143: 3- 10 Gives a description of depression and how to overcome it. Joyce explains this passage in detail, let’s follow along to see the steps we can take to defeat this attack of the enemy.

Psalm 143:3 Identify the nature and cause of the problem. David says he feels as if he is dwelling in “dark places as those who have been long dead.” this certainly sounds to me like a description of o someone who is depressed. I believe that the source of depression described here is our enemy, Satan, who attacks the soul.

Psalm 143:4 Recognize that depression steals life and light. Depression oppresses a person’s spiritual freedom and power. Our Spirits (empowered and encouraged by God’s spirit) are powerful and free. Therefore Satan seeks to oppress our spirits’ power and liberty by filling our minds with darkness and gloom. Please realize that it is vital to resist the feeling called “depression” immediately when we begin to sense it. The longer it is allowed to remain, the harder it becomes to resist.

Psalm 143:5 Remember the good times. In this verse we see David’s response to his condition. Remembering, meditating, and pondering are all functions of the mind. He obviously knows that his thoughts will affect his feelings, so he gets busy thinking about the kinds of things that will help overcome the attack upon his mind. He thinks about God and the good things he does.

Psalm 143:6 Praise the Lord the in midst of the problem. David knows the importance of praise; he lifts in hands in worship. He declares what his need truly is. He needs God. Far too often when people get depressed, it is because they are in need of something, and they seek it in the wrong place, which only adds to their problems. God alone can water a thirsty soul. Do not be deceived into thinking anything else can satisfy you completely. Chasing after the wrong thing will always leave you disappointed, and disappointment opens the door to depression.

Psalm 143:7 Ask for God’s help. He is basically saying, “Hurry up, God, because I am not going to hold on very much longer without you.”

Psalm 143:8 Listen to the Lord. David knows that he needs to hear from God. He needs to be assured of God’s love and kindness. He needs God’s attention and direction.

Psalm 143:9 Pray for deliverance. Once again David declares that only God can help him. Please notice that throughout this discourse, he keeps his mind on God and not on the problem.

Psalm 143:10 Seek God’s wisdom, knowledge, and leadership. Perhaps David is indicating that he has gotten out of the will of God and thus opened the door to the attack on his soul. He wants to be in God’s will because he realizes that it is the only safe place to be. Then he requests that God help him to be stable. He wants his unsettled emotions to be level- not up and down.
