Prayer requires your faith`

Prayer requires your faithEPh 1:13-14
Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promise Holy Spirit. Who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession.

It does not matter what you are praying about, you must exercise and release your faith in order to receive what God has promised you.

You cannot receive the promise Holy Spirit until you believe. The very foundation of our Christian experience is based on believing Jesus. This is necessary for us to access the fullness of Christ in the kingdom of God. Your faith cannot be based on carnal things only, because it will be shaken, nothing in this world lasts forever. God’s word has been proven to be stable and trust worthy. There is always going to be something that happens to test the integrity of the system or the thing and they will all prove to be shakable. Nothing in life is a 100% full proof.

What you are facing today that is keeping you down, making you worried, depressed, hurt, angry or sad? keep this in mind it has an expiration date! The sooner you and I learn to take God at his word and just believe against all odds. Speak life and not death regardless. We will experience breakthrough like never before. “Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers and sisters. Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows (James 1:16-17).” Since its the Father’s pleasure to give you good gifts and the keys to the kingdom, why not take advantage of it and access all the amazing blessings God has in store for you.

Pray – Speak TO your mountain not ABOUT your Mountain

mount-ranier-mount-features-2Keep speaking faith filled words and believe that whatever you say, you will have it.

Mark 9:23 (NIV) If you can Jesus said, “Everything is possible for one who believes.”

Mark 10:27 (NIV) Jesus looked at them (his disciples) and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible God.

Mark 11:23-24(NIV)

Truly I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, ad it will be yours.

Matthew 21:21 – 22(NIV)

Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was don to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”

Whatever, you are believing God for today, stand on his word with confidence. I am believing God to accomplish some great things that he has already revealed to me, and his word has already confirmed that He will do it. Therefore, my faith is rooted in his word, my confidence is established in the substance of his word because they have great recompense of rewards.

Jesus is not moved by our many prayers, crying and wailing, or well articulated words, he is moved when we simply believe him. Instead of allowing your heart to be filled with fear, let God’s love dwell in your heart, and that love will cast out all fear. God does what he does because he loves us so, so much. He is always willing to answer our prayers.

So pray with confidence, pray without doubt, don’t get caught up with the timing, his timing is always perfect, only believe, and wait for the answer.

Be blessed.

Build up your faith!

Faith in prayerPrayer focus for the week

Jesus asked his disciples, “When the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth (Luke18:8)?” Look all around and you will see, that this generation has more faith in the natural occurrences than in God. Jesus said in Mark 11:22 “Have faith in God”.

Faith forms the foundation of our Christian experience

According to Heb.11:6 “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” All our praying will be in vain, when we pray in unbelief, because we are trying to gain access to God’s resources without the currency of the kingdom and that is faith. Jesus makes mention of a faithless generation simply because man has drifted from faith in God to faith in systems. Faith is not based on what the natural eye can see and the mind can understand, the basis of faith is God. In him all things consist that which is visible and invisible. Therefore, we will not be disappointed when we place all our confidence in God. This is definitely a place where we can put all our eggs in one basket and not be afraid.

 Your faith is tested daily

Sometimes it may feel like you are lacking in faith in some situations or at a certain point in your life. This is the point where, Jude admonishes you to build yourself up in your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit (Jude 20 ). Praying in the Spirit builds your faith in God.  The inner man is made stronger and being renewed day by day. Wouldn’t you prefer to be strong in your inner being, so you are empowered to live victoriously? Yes, everyone wants live victorious lives, no one wants to be defeated all the time. Then start building up your faith and confidence in God.

Practice praying in the spirit daily

Pray in the spirit anytime, whether; during devotions in the morning, taking a shower, preparing meals, traveling on the road, facing financial crisis, fighting sicknesses and diseases or facing a situation that you need wisdom for.  Pray in the spirit before you are required to respond to anything. Ask God to reveal the mystery that you may have absolutely no clue about, to enlighten your understanding about the situation.

Build up your faith in the word by Feeding yourself with the bread of life daily

Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God (Rom. 10:17). Hearing the word day in and day out makes the difference in your belief system. God cannot be separated from his word. From the beginning God created the heavens and the earth by his spoken word. John 1:1- 3 says; “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.” What God said, is exactly  what God meant. He is true to his word and He will honor it.  We are given a choice to either believe it or refuse it. Good sense says; believe the word- it works, it is forever settled in heaven and established in the earth.

Deliberately put the word in your ear, and eye gates daily, the same way you put the media broadcast in. Do not neglect times in the word. Give God’s word priority in your daily life. Let the word of Christ dwell richly in you in all wisdom, then flow out of you in various streams of life (Col 3:16). It will produce wonderful life changing results. You owe it to yourself to be word informed!

We can never understand how important the expression of our faith is, until we are faced with a situation that demands the exercise of our faith.

In the meanwhile, start building your faith, do not wait until something happens to throw you off guard, before you begin to strengthen your faith. Do not rely on past experiences and past knowledge of the word, put yourself in remembrance of the word daily, so when times of testing comes and they are going come, you will be equipped to handle anything with the word in your mouth and God on your side.

 Be blessed.

Just Believe!

Like Mary and Martha only believe

John 11:40

Jesus told Martha, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you would see the glory of God.”

Mary and Martha were hurting and grieving after their brother Lazarus had died. The sisters sent word to Jesus, requesting his presence while their brother was sick, but still alive. Lazarus, was no doubt very good friend of Jesus, he was probably in the prime of his manhood, but became sick and eventually died. Jesus received the message, “Lord, the one you love is sick.” Jesus response was, “This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God’s glory so that God’s Son may be glorified through it (John 11:4).”

Jesus knowing Lazarus was sick, stayed where he was two more days! He did not seem to be in a hurry to get to Lazarus. Jesus was not in a panic to get to Lazarus before he died so his word might be true. Jesus then journeyed to Judea, to minister to Lazarus and his sisters, although it was dangerous to go there. Jesus first demonstrate faith in going back to a place where the Jews wanted to kill him. He also knew that Lazarus was dead.

why would Jesus wait two days later, knowing very well Lazarus would be dead by the time he got there. In fact Jesus did not even need to go to Lazarus he only needed to speak the word and Lazarus would be healed or raised up.

Now, Jesus did not operate on worldly concepts and principles. He was led by his Father in heaven. In his mind, what is consider as death to humans is a state sleeping to him. His plan was to deliberately demonstrate the power of God. As He told Martha, “Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?” This restoration of Lazarus was done so that the people would know that Jesus was sent by God and they would also see the glory of God. The effect was so powerful that those who saw Lazarus raised from  the dead knew that this was no ordinary man, because Lazarus was so dead he stunk, this undeniable action caused the people to place their trust in Jesus Christ.

There are some things we can learn from this:

Jesus loving Lazarus and being close to his family did not exempt them from earthly troubles affecting them, even the inevitable death. Sometimes we have this myth, that as long as we are walking in right before God we should not have any troubles, or we should live above troubles, but this is far from the truth. How will God demonstrate his glory in our situation if there is nothing to work with. The presence of trouble is not the absence of God’s presence but the opportunity for God’s majestic power to work on our behalf. You are not the only who wants likes a show off, God does too. He actually loves it better than we do. He loves to show himself strong on the behalf of the righteous.
